Stolen SUV Recovered: Police Arrest Three in Sarpeiman Car Theft Case
Three individuals have been arrested by the Eastern North Regional Police Command in connection with the theft of a Hyundai Santa Fe SUV, registration number GG 2–18, from a washing bay at Kuntunse Satellite in Accra.
The arrests occurred on April 30, 2025. Two suspects, Kwabena Tawiah and Kwadwo Asiedu, were apprehended at a hotel in Nkawkaw. The third suspect, Dennis Debra, also known as “Kapun,” was arrested in Pemenase, Ashanti Region, for allegedly receiving the stolen vehicle.
During police interrogation, Tawiah and Asiedu reportedly admitted to selling the vehicle to Debra for GH¢15,000, of which GH¢2,000 had been paid. A search of Debra led to the recovery of the vehicle’s ignition key.
The suspects and the recovered vehicle have been handed over to the Accra Police Command for further investigation.
