Davido and Cubana Chief Priest Demand Release of Activist VeryDarkMan

Nigerian music star Davido and nightlife entrepreneur Cubana Chief Priest have publicly called for the release of activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan. They made their demands known through social media posts, expressing concern over his recent arrest.

VeryDarkMan, a well-known social media activist, was reportedly arrested on May 2, 2025, in Abuja. The arrest followed his visit to a Guarantee Trust Bank branch, where he lodged a complaint about unauthorized deductions from his mother's account. Shortly after, he was taken into custody on allegations of cyberstalking.

Davido, who has previously shown support for VeryDarkMan, took to his Instagram story to share a photo of the activist with the caption: "Free VeryDarkMan." Cubana Chief Priest also posted on Instagram, stating: "Free VeryDarkMan. He is a good guy."

The arrest has sparked discussions online, with many Nigerians expressing mixed reactions. Some support the authorities' actions, while others believe the arrest is an attempt to silence a vocal critic of societal issues.

VeryDarkMan is known for his outspoken views on various topics, including governance and social injustices. His activism has earned him both admirers and critics.
