Davido Opens Up About Losing Son Ifeanyi and Finding Healing Through Twins
Nigerian music star Davido has opened up about the emotional impact of losing his son, Ifeanyi, and how the birth of his twins has brought healing to his family.
In a recent interview with Ebro Darden on Apple Music 1, Davido discussed how the tragic loss in 2022 led him to take a step back from his career to focus on his family. He said:
“You simply say, ‘I’m out,’ after somewhat of a loss. I’m just going to relax, look after my wife, take care of the family, and clear my head.”
The birth of his twins—a boy and a girl—in 2023 brought immense joy to Davido and his wife, Chioma. He revealed that one of the twins bears a striking resemblance to their late son, Ifeanyi. This resemblance has been both comforting and emotional for the couple. Davido shared:
“The child resembles my deceased son exactly. It’s frightening. It’s almost like him. ‘No, it’s him,’ we say. He returned.”
The arrival of their twins has been a source of healing for Davido and his family, helping them find happiness again after their loss.
