Akufo-Addo And Bawumia Have Destroyed Ghana's Economy – Former Prez. Mahama speaks

President Akufo-Addo and his vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, have been accused by former President John Mahama of mishandling the country's economy since taking office.

Mr. Mahama said Ghanaians are groaning under the weight of the country's present financial crisis and the government's rising economic challenges in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

"The Ghanaian economy has been collapsed by President Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia.

The debt crisis, for which there are very few tangible projects to show for, and worsening economic hardship of Ghanaians amply demonstrate the negative impact of a collapsed economy.."

The National Democratic Congress (NDC2020 )'s presidential candidate further stated that the government's "voracious thirst for borrowing" and the introduction of onerous taxes will destroy company capital.

According to him, the Akufo-Addo administration has also limited access to loans for the private sector.

"The NDC remains opposed to the imposition of the numerous fresh taxes on Ghanaians at a time when Government is living large and unwilling or unable to trim expenditure, cut waste and check corruption," he stated.

MPs from the New Democratic Party (NDC) are to be commended.

John Mahama praised the Minority group's leadership and members for "keeping government responsible" and displaying their commitment to preserve and advance Ghanaians' interests.

"It is important for MPs, as stressed by other speakers and the leadership, to always remember that they are representing the people and are also in the House to represent the NDC. "
