EDUCATION FOR ALL: Students Loan Trust Fund Donates Motorbike to Support Student with Cerebral Palsy

At the University for Development Studies (UDS) in Tamale, a story of resilience and support is unfolding—one that highlights the power of education and the importance of inclusion.

On behalf of the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Saajida Shiraz, together with the Board and Management of the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF), the Director of Corporate Communications led a special visit to meet Miss Radia Nuhu, a remarkable student living with cerebral palsy.

For a while now, Radia has been battling a challenge many of her colleagues never have to think about—transportation to and from lectures. Her determination to keep pursuing her academic dreams despite these barriers has been nothing short of inspiring.

To help ease this struggle, the SLTF stepped in as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. Radia was presented with a brand-new motorbike, a gesture aimed at supporting her mobility and ensuring that nothing holds her back from excelling in her studies.

This act of kindness and empowerment couldn’t have come at a better time. It aligns perfectly with preparations for the rollout of President John Dramani Mahama’s Free Tertiary for Persons with Disabilities policy—a groundbreaking initiative designed to eliminate the long-standing barriers that have kept many students with disabilities from accessing higher education.

The story of Radia is more than just a gift presentation—it’s a reminder that with the right support systems, no dream is too big and no obstacle is insurmountable.

The Students Loan Trust Fund has once again demonstrated that education should be a right for all, not a privilege for a few.
