Ghanaian songwriter and rapper Akuaba Kuma Akuffo, stage named Koo Ntakra shares his heartwarming conversations with mum as he celebrated his birthday with the family.
He wrote;
“I went home this morning to celebrate my birthday with the family. This be what I told my mom.
Please read this for me 🙏🙏
What I told my mom when I was 16 years.
At the age of 16 I told my mom that I will buy her a house and a car at the age of 30
Been the last born of my parents and the only son who worried my parents a lot when I was young, I realized my mom has passed through a lot Just to take care of me. From the age 1 to 16 I never sat in a classroom for the whole 3 terms sometimes I spend 1 whole term in the hospital .
Because of sickness some of my mom’s friends call me Abewe Cash it means somebody who spends his mom’s cash.
Upon all this sickness I was very stubborn boy . Akuffo don’t go there you will see me coming from there , Akuffo don’t take it you will see me holding it . I was very stubborn
After jhs in the year 2007 things were very difficult for my mom , her job broke down, she lost a lot of Invesment, my dad too wasn’t supportive But my mom told me Akuffo still you will go to secondary school. I remember she sold some of her fabrics (Ntama) and some items for me to continue my schooling. Because the money wasn’t enough to pay for boarding house I went to school as a day student,
Going to SHS 3 my mom moved me to the boarding house by the grace of God I completed SHS the year 2011
I promised my mom that I will buy her house and car before I reach 30 years. Today I’m ageing and I will be 30 years soon but haven’t bought my mom,s The car and the house 😭😭 even though I support her in her business and everything
Cici if you can hear me Now, “what I will say is the promise I made is still in my mind”.
As you always say that life sometimes never go how we want it but blessings comes in many ways
Your son is still working hard to bring something home. The night is still young and I will for fill my promise. Bless me as you always do and pray for me as you always do
I love you and you are the reason why am in the city hustling,
It’s your beloved son Akuaba Kuma Akuffo aka Koo Ntakra #KooNie #KOK”
